With the Atlantic Ocean on its east coast, and the more tranquil Caribbean Sea on its west coast, this small island offers a full range of tropical features. The city of Castries at the north end of St. Lucia has the largest concentration of accommodations and visitor attractions, while the rest of this 27 by 14-mile paradise consists of beaches and rain forests surrounding the 2,000-foot twin peaks of the Pitons. Wild orchids, immense ferns, bird of paradise plants, coconuts, mangos, bananas and papayas are everywhere, and the colorful St. Lucia parrots and other rare tropical birds, fast disappearing from the other islands, still flourish here in their native home. St. Lucia offers everything from golfing around the resort areas, to sailing and diving along the coastal areas, to hiking and bird watching in the interior.

·	Castries		·	Soufriere
		Lodging options located in Castries, the islands capital, located on the north end of St. Lucia. Hewanorra Int'l Aiport (UVF) is located 42 miles Southeast of Castries and George F. Charles Airport (SLU) is located 2 miles North of Castries.			Lodging located on the less inhabited southern portion of the island including Soufriere, Savannes and Seanefield. While here, make sure to see the Pitons-twin peaks which rise up at the sea's edge to over 2,000 feet.

Area Facts: Near the village of Soufriere, midway down the Caribbean side of St. Lucia, are the Sulphur Springs, an 8-acre dormant volcano crater through which you can hike, drive, or stop at the botanical gardens to take a hot, bubbling mineral bath. The local area code for St. Lucia is 758.
